Ace Maple Low Back Upholstered Swivel Bar Stool

The Darafeev Ace is a low back swivel bar stool with a rounded upholstered seat and gently curved back that wraps around you for support.

The lower profile gives you something to lean against, but it doesn’t create the visual height of a traditional full-back stool. That makes it especially nice around kitchen islands where you want comfortable seating while keeping the countertop and surrounding room more open.

For shoppers comparing low back bar stools, the Ace sits in a nice middle ground between a backless stool and a taller dining-chair-style stool.

A Curved Back That Feels More Supportive

The upholstered back curves around the seat rather than running straight across behind you.

That shape gives this curved back bar stool a more comfortable, enclosed feel while still keeping the overall silhouette compact.

It’s one of the details that makes the Ace look a little different from the typical swivel counter stool with back.

A Generously Padded Seat

The round seat is fully upholstered and features suspension seating underneath, giving the Ace more give and comfort than a cushion sitting directly over a hard surface.

It helps the seat feel more supportive as you shift and move, which is especially nice when you’re sitting through a meal or spending extra time at the island.

Choose fabric for a relaxed kitchen, vinyl for easy maintenance, or leather for a richer leather swivel bar stool.

Swivel Toward the Kitchen or the Conversation

The swivel seat makes it easy to turn toward the kitchen, face someone in the room, or get in and out without repeatedly moving the entire stool.

That’s particularly useful in open kitchens where you’re rarely facing one direction the whole time.

If you’re looking for an upholstered swivel bar stool that feels comfortable without looking bulky, the Ace is a strong option.

Choose the Right Height

This bar stool is available in two seat heights:

• 26″ counter height pairs well with standard 36″ kitchen counters and islands.
• 30″ bar height works well with 40″ to 42″ bar-height counters and home bars.

The 26″ version works especially well as a low back counter stool or counter height swivel stool, while the 30″ version gives you the same design for a taller bar-height surface.

Maple Keeps the Wood Look Clean

The base is made from maple, which has a finer, smoother grain than oak.

That gives this maple swivel bar stool a cleaner, more understated wood appearance and allows the curved upholstery to become more of the focal point.

Choose from a range of maple finishes to coordinate the stool with cabinetry, flooring, or other furniture.

Customize the Look

Choose the upholstery, maple finish, metal footplate finish, seat height, and swivel type.

A light neutral can give the Ace a softer contemporary look, while leather and a darker wood finish can make it feel richer and more traditional.

That flexibility makes it easy to use as a kitchen island stool with a low back without being locked into one particular style.

About Suspension Seating

The term suspension seat comes from the liner suspended between the wood frame. As the occupant moves up and down, the liner gives, preventing the body from constantly hitting against a hard surface such as those found in stock seats.
